HOW BALLOONS ARE PRINTED

The
Printing Process

Preparing the screen.
A film positive is made from your artwork and exposed onto a fabric screen that has been coated with a photosensitive emulsion. The excess emulsion is then washed off the screen surface, leaving your design as a clear area for the ink to pass through.

Printing:
The printers insert the balloon into a slot which then inflates the balloon. The balloon rotates to a station where the screen compresses the balloon to create a flat printing surface. A squeegee then passes ink across the screen, transferring ink to the side of the balloon.

Design Around printing involves printing on four sides and the top. At each of the four stations, the balloons are turned before printing the next side. The balloon then flips up to have the top printed.
